How To Make Homemade DMT

Hi there. We recently moved our site over to thedrugspot.com. All our information on Making DMT is now found there.

What is DMT?

DMT is short for N,N-Dimethyltryptamine which is a psychedelic compound that is produced by living organisms. It’s a compound that’s a part of the tryptamine family.

It may sound un-natural, but it’s actually found in several plants. In addition, they can also be found in small traces inside mammals, including humans. However, no one really knows for sure why they exist. No one’s able to determine yet what it’s main functions are.

The then 30 year old Richard Manske is credited for the very first DMT synthesis back in 1
931. However, the Canadian Mr. Manske was not the first one who discovered it. That distinction goes to Brazilian Oswaldo Gonçalves de Lima. He was a well-known microbiologist and chemist who named his discovery, nigerina. It was in 1946 when he was able to successfuly isolate the alkaloid from the root bark of the Mimosa hostilis.

However, Jonathan Ott pointed out later on that the Brazilian’s discovery is really a contaminated form of DMT. The Brazilian took this as a challenge and in 1959, he was able to present proof that pure DMT exists in the roots of the Mimosa tenuiflora.

Starting in 1955, DMT has been found in more than 50 different species of plants, 4 different species of animals and 3 different species of mammals. Since then, different groups of researchers were credited for discovering its presence in different plants and animals. For example, an American team led by Ara der Marderosian was able to discover the presence of DMT in Psychotria viridis. On the other hand, Jacques Poisson identified the presence of DMT in the Diplopterys cabrerana.

It’s illegal by virtue of the the UN 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances which classifies it as a Schedule 1 drug. This means that it can only be used for medicinal purposes and scientific research. The same classification applies in the US. However, there’s precedence in allowing the drug for religious ceremonies. In February of 2006, the Supreme Court allowed the importation and consumption of a tea with DMT by the União do Vegetal church. This is by virtue of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993.

What Slang Names Is DMT Known As?

There are very few known slang terms for it. Here are some of the known ones:

Businessman’s trip/special/lunch
Dimitri
Spice

What Effects Does DMT Have?

There is a lot of ongoing debate on whether DMT is good for you or not. Users like to point out that it’s a natural drug since it’s naturally-present in living organisms. However, it’s important to point out that the DMT found in these living organisms are only small amounts and they have no known functions. With that being said, abuse of this drug can lead to some serious complications like the following:

  • Unsettling thoughts that can run for days
  • Lung and throat issues if smoked
  • Hallucinations
  • Fear and paranoia
  • Experiences that cannot be expressed by users
  • Dysphoria

DMT is a psychedelic drug and as such, does not present any serious side-effects when taken moderately. When taken in moderate dosages, here are some of the experiences that you can expect:

  • Erotica
  • Improved sensations
  • Euphoria
  • Feeling of rush
  • Spiritual experiences
  • Out of body feeling
  • Kaleidoscopic patterning

This is a quote from a user, Terence McKenna – “The feeling of doing DMT is as though one had been struck by noetic lightning. The ordinary world is almost instantaneously replaced, not only with a hallucination, but a hallucination whose alien character is its utter alienness. Nothing in this world can prepare one for the impressions that fill your mind when you enter the DMT sensorium.” Source: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/dmt/dmt_basics.shtml

Joe Rogan also talked about his experiences after taking DMT. He said that during the trip, an alien and a Thai Buddha communicated with him. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grcqs9cDuN8

Who Makes DMT?

If you want to make DMT, you should at least have the basic knowledge of chemistry. There are extractions and conversions involved using chemicals and it’s considered to be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. This is why chemists are the primary makers of this drug. Sometimes, biologists also make them since they’re familiar with the organisms where they’re present. However, you’ll be hard-pressed to find someone that makes them because very little profit is made from them. This is why their makers usually make them for their own consumption.

Where is DMT Made?

Since making it involves chemicals and laboratory equipments, it’s often made inside laboratories. Of course, it goes without saying that it’s made inside illegal and shady laboratories. Most of these laboratories were set up for the purpose of making DMT and other drugs only.

What is DMT Made From?

You need to find something that has DMT in it. Mimosa hostilis is a popular choice since you can easily buy it online. You can even buy it on eBay. You will need its root bark. That’s basically your main ingredient because the others are just used for the extraction procedure. The main chemical needed for extraction is sodium hydroxide. However, there are other substitutes like hydrochloric acid or even vinegar for something safer. Naphtha is also needed.

How is DMT Made?

It’s very easy to learn how to make DMT. You just need to know how extraction works. Of course, you will need the root bark of the mimosa hostilis. The bark can be shredded or powdered. However, most experts suggest shredded bark for beginners. Once you have the ingredients, these are the processes involved in making it:

  • Polar extraction
  • Basification
  • Non-polar extraction
  • Freeze-precipitation
  • Washing

What Does DMT Look Like?

It’s in the crystal form. The most common color is white. However, there are some DMTs that are almost orange in color. That’s still fine.

What is a Standard Dose Of DMT?

The standard dose is between 15 and 60 mg. However, that can still be broken down into light, medium or heavy dose:

  1. 10 to 20 mg (light dose)
  2. 20 to 40 mg (medium dose)
  3. 40 to 60 mg (heavy dose)

There is no known lethal dose because it’s relatively safe. In addition, most users get knocked out if they consume too much so they don’t really get a chance to die from too much DMT. However, the LD50 is 110 mg/kg but that’s with mice. LD50 refers to the dosage that’s lethal to half of the test subjects. How is DMT Taken?

The most common way of taking it is by inhalation through smoking. Sometimes, it’s also injected. However, the effects are similar to that of smoking so most people prefer to smoke it.

Where is DMT Taken?

Due to its effects, it’s not usually taken outside or in public. It would be very overwhelming for a person who has taken DMT to be outside especially with the hallucinations. This is why it’s often taken inside homes where users can just sit down to enjoy the trip that usually lasts for an hour.
